Are virtual/on line assessments now the norm?

Are virtual/on line assessments now the norm?

Liz Malcolm, Director PSI(UK)

The use of virtual assessments by educational psychologists appears to be on the increase. This may be for several different reasons.

The strategic leads for SEND and Inclusion of the Eastern Region Local Authorities in England have commissioned a focused piece of work about the extent of the use and potential benefits of virtual assessments by educational psychologists (EPs). The work is being facilitated by Liz Malcolm, Director (PSI (UK)Ltd), SEND and Psychological Consultant.

The intention of the study is to develop regional principles and guidelines for the use of virtual assessment based on an understanding of the extent of the use of virtual assessments across the region and local stakeholder perspectives on what works, when and for whom it works best. Ideally, it will also draw on research and evidence from elsewhere.

Did you carry out or are you aware of any work that was done about the use of virtual assessments during the COVID pandemic?

Are you involved in or aware of any ongoing work in this area?

Many thanks, I would be pleased to hear from you.

Liz Malcolm
